Lands

When I close my eyes, the outer image seeks its continuation within me, and relates to inner dimensions, like a map to a landscape. The imagination is key to creating a new and mysterious landscape that disappears from the outer space but arising from it this is what I tend to wander, live, observe. Naturally occurring structures and layers, as a source of inspiration, spontaneously transform into internal landscapes, islands, oases, internal tectonic plates as analogies of external images and beyond borders, in the land of no one / everyone, the invisible must be made visible. A kind of re-visitation, and re-appropriation, an individual traveling through abstract places - landscape through line, shadow pattern, contrast, and negative space. Working on large surfaces, the agility of energetic gesture-painting is a surface that is seemingly three-dimensionally transformed by protruding and condensed structures, different textures, if we look carefully at the totality of the myriad of micro-narratives. Observed from a certain distance, it merges into a single, carefully designed composition. The reality of the material is just an excuse to coordinate spontaneous physical strata, created by various media (oil and water-based paint, collage, cement, cutouts from my own digital prints etc.) as well as colours, contrast, and negative spaces in the subjectively interpreted landscape, to make the invisible visible.
